iDFitness Code of Conduct
iDFITNESS Code of Conduct
iDFitness Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct forms part of the iDFitness Terms of Service (see Section 6) and applies to all Members, guests, and visitors while on iDFitness premises or using iDFitness facilities, classes, or online community spaces (e.g. member WhatsApp/Facebook groups). Breach of this Code may result in suspension or termination of membership under Section 7 (Suspension or Termination of Membership) of the Terms of Service.
1. Our Commitment to You
iDFitness is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone — regardless of age, ability, fitness level, background, or experience. This Code sets out what we expect from Members in return, so that everyone can train, recover, and progress without disruption or risk to their safety or dignity.
2. General Conduct
Members are expected to:
- Treat all staff, instructors, other members, and visitors with courtesy and respect.
- Follow reasonable instructions given by iDFitness staff, particularly regarding safety, equipment use, and class participation.
- Use appropriate language and behaviour at all times; abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or harassing language or conduct will not be tolerated.
- Respect the personal space, belongings, and training time of other members (for example, not interrupting someone mid-set to use their equipment, and re-racking weights promptly after use).
- Wear appropriate gym attire and footwear for training, in line with any specific class or activity requirements communicated by instructors.
- Maintain reasonable standards of personal hygiene, including bringing a towel to classes and training sessions and wiping down equipment after use.
3. Safety and Equipment Use
- Members must only use equipment they have been inducted on or that they are reasonably competent and confident to use safely.
- Equipment must be used only for its intended purpose and in line with any instruction, signage, or guidance provided by staff (see Section 3, Liability, of the Terms of Service).
- Any damaged, faulty, or unsafe equipment must be reported to a member of staff immediately and not used until inspected.
- Members must follow all posted safety guidance, including maximum capacity limits in classes or areas of the gym, and any COVID-19, illness, or public health guidance in place at the time.
- Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in training areas unless part of a supervised, iDFitness-approved programme, and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times where permitted (see Section 2, Age Limit, of the Terms of Service).
- Members must not attend the gym while under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs, or while carrying a condition (e.g. contagious illness) that could reasonably put others at risk.
4. Class and Booking Etiquette
- Members should arrive on time for booked classes; late arrival may result in exclusion from that session for safety reasons (e.g. missed warm-up).
- Members who cannot attend a booked class or session should cancel via the booking system with as much notice as possible, so the space can be offered to another member.
- Persistent late cancellations or no-shows may result in restricted booking privileges, at iDFitness’s reasonable discretion.
- Mobile phone use should be kept to a minimum during classes and sessions out of respect for instructors and other members, except where used for tracking training (e.g. a fitness app or timer).
5. Health and Wellbeing
- Members must keep iDFitness informed of any change to their health that may affect their ability to train safely, consistent with the Health declaration in Section 2 of the Terms of Service.
- Members should listen to their body and are encouraged to speak to an instructor if unsure whether an exercise or class is appropriate for them.
- Instructors’ guidance on technique and safe training practice should be followed; Members who disregard safety guidance do so at their own risk to the extent permitted by law (see Section 3 of the Terms of Service).
6. Facilities, Belongings and Lockers
- Lockers are for use during a visit only and must be emptied before the Member leaves (see Section 4 of the Terms of Service). Locks left overnight may be removed and contents treated as lost property.
- Members should not bring valuables into the gym; iDFitness’s responsibility for lost or stolen property is set out in Section 5 of the Terms of Service.
- Any damage to iDFitness property, whether accidental or otherwise, should be reported to staff as soon as possible.
- Members are financially responsible for damage they cause through misuse, negligence, or a breach of this Code, in line with Section 3.1 of the Terms of Service.
7. Respectful and Inclusive Environment
iDFitness has zero tolerance for:
- Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind, whether in person or online (including in member social media groups or via direct message);
- Discriminatory language or behaviour on the basis of a protected characteristic (age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage/civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation);
- Any form of violence, or threat of violence, towards another person;
- Sexual harassment or unwanted conduct of a sexual nature; and
- Photography or filming of another member without their consent (see Section 18 of the Terms of Service on image and video use).
Any member who experiences or witnesses conduct of this kind is encouraged to report it to a member of staff or via hello@id.fitness, and it will be treated seriously and confidentially wherever possible, in line with our Complaints process (Section 19 of the Terms of Service).
8. Social Media and Online Conduct
- Members are welcome to share their iDFitness experience on their own social media, subject to obtaining consent from any other identifiable individuals shown, as set out in Section 18.3 of the Terms of Service.
- Conduct within any official iDFitness member group (WhatsApp, Facebook, or similar) should follow the same standards of respect set out in this Code. iDFitness reserves the right to remove members from official group chats who breach this Code, independently of any action taken on their gym membership.
- Members should not use official iDFitness channels to promote unrelated commercial services, products, or solicitations without prior agreement from iDFitness.
9. Breaches of this Code
Where a Member breaches this Code of Conduct, iDFitness may take action proportionate to the severity and frequency of the breach, which may include:
- an informal conversation or verbal reminder;
- a written warning;
- temporary suspension of membership or booking privileges; or
- termination of membership, in line with Section 7 of the Terms of Service.
For serious breaches — including violence, harassment, discrimination, or any behaviour that puts the safety of others at risk — iDFitness may suspend or terminate membership immediately, without a prior warning, as permitted under Section 7 of the Terms of Service.
10. Reporting a Concern
If you have a concern about the conduct of another member, a member of staff, or anything covered by this Code, please raise it with the gym manager on-site or by emailing hello@id.fitness. This will be handled in accordance with the Complaints process in Section 19 of the Terms of Service.
11. Updates to this Code
iDFitness may update this Code of Conduct from time to time to reflect changes in our facilities, services, or best practice. Members will be notified of material updates in the same way as changes to the Terms of Service (see Section 12), and continued use of iDFitness facilities after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Code.
